People need to get over being butt hurt about losing items. If there is no risk of loss, the pvp would be boring and dull.  Nobody wants to do arena combat, and climb ranking ladders.  Other games do that already.  Also, you can duel and wager silver.  So practice pvp without losing your gear already.  Seems like a legit game to me.  A lot of new things that should draw a lot of players to the game.  If you prepare, the loss is not as bad as you would assume it to be.
Everyone cries about losing gear, but still would celebrate taking someone else's if they win, then do it again because they like the rush of adrenaline and excitement from that.  Exactly why people form habits and addictions.
