The P2W Debate In Albion Online
We have had a lot of people coming to us to buy Albion Online Gold and one of the rumblings that we have heard from the community is in regards to if Albion Online is pay 2 win. Now of course pretty much every MMO has this P2W stigma, but we wanted to give our thoughts on the whole debate about if Albion Online is P2W.
Now the most obvious thing to look at here are the things like premium accounts and the founder's packs that gave early adopters of the game a head start. But you can counter this by saying that the things you get in the founder packs do not really give you a huge head start and also if you want, you can actually upgrade to premium through in game currency as silver can be easily converted into gold.
While many players will obtain their Albion Gold by exchanging the Silver they earn in game. The fact is, you can still open your wallet and buy Albion Online Gold with real money. The difference here is that it really does have an impact on the game as all of the gear that the Gold is spent on is bought from other players. The player driven economy of Albion Online is fantastic, but it is possible if a person had enough money they could really do some lasting damage to it.
So is Albion Online P2W? Well in some cases we would have to say yes, but to be fair this is the case for most MMORPG's. We do feel that as the ability to get Albion Gold is easily obtainable in game, it is a little less P2W than some other games we have played.
